Photo Challenge Days 28, 29 & 30

We've officially reached the end of the photo challenge and I must say it really was a challenge to find pictures and take pictures to post each day. As you guys have probably noticed I've been a bit inconsistent with my posts. Anyhoo........let's finish this off with the bang that is to be heard around the world!

Day 28- Nighttime

If you're from Jamaica you know we like our 'brawta' (something extra for you non-Jamaicans), so I added this little image at the end. Yes it's a little shaky and unclear, but it's still an interesting image to me so I decided to add it.

Day 22- Clothing

I've recently fell in love with blazer jackets. I've never been one to jump on fashion fads but I love this style. Paired with a cute pair of shorts and a fitted tee this look is amazing!!!! <3

Day 23- In your closet

So I don't have a picture of the inside of my closet because well I'd hate to show you all my little tidbits and embarrassing stuff but if you look in the background you can see a little peep into my closet.

The only piece of advice I have to share with you all is to give thanks for each day.

Photo Challenge Days 17, 18, 19, 20 & 21

Hello Lovelies,

I know! I know! I've been such a flake when it comes on to blogging but as many of you know life often interrupts. But never fear, I've returned with a passion that stirs hearts! Here's some pics from the photo challenge!!!

Day 17- Memories

All the pictures in this post are some of my favourite memories but this is a great one I just had to highlight! Look at the expressions of my friends and I. You have see no evil, hear no evil, say no evil and lastly the newest addition SMELL NO EVIL!!!! Bahahaha! Loves it!

Day 18- Something New

My something new isn't all that new but honestly what would I do without my blackberry! To you iphone and android users it's ancient news but I still love it! So there you have it!

Day 19- Best Friend

This is my bestie!!!! Her name is Chantel! We've been together since first form (seventh grade to many of you foreigners). I love her so much and we've been through so much! :D

Day 20- Seasonal

I found this title so abstract. What do you mean seasonal vegetables? friends? books? movies? Seasonal what? In any case I thought to show you all one of my favourite seasons Spring! Though you may not see the blooming flowers and freshness associated with spring, you can notice the green trees, the bright sunny weather and of course the hippies are there to show you the flower power! 

Day 21- Where you sleep!!! 

Well this is not really that great a picture of where I sleep but if you look in the background you'll see a picture of my bedhead, my dresser and my night table with my most beloved teddies. :D

Photo Challenge Days 13, 14, 15 & 16

Day 13- Written words 

In this picture we have my friend Sharene!!! Woot for friends!!! She sent this picture couple weeks after she migrated to Florida :( Still miss her and her crazy ways but the memories we shared were amazing. Don't worry she's not dead and we're still friends. Amen for technology! So I'm sure many more memories are store. They'll be a bit difficult but not impossible! Whee!!!

Day 14- Movement

Being a med student I love the body. Being a dancer I love movement. And being an appreciator of art I love the contours of the body and the stories it tells. I have a deep appreciation for the human body. It's crevices and creases and its imperfections and flaws. I looove the contours, the fluidity of movement, the shapes and sizes and all that the body shows and shares. As you can see our bodies tell a story that I love to hear and see.

Day 15- Technology

I have recently developed a deep love and appreciation for apple products and no it has nothing to do with the death of Steve Jobs. Rather I see the sleekness, capabilities and efficiency of the apple products that my friends and colleagues have and I would loooooooooooooove to have one woot! They are so amazing! Ipad, mac book pro, iphone and even itouch! They are so amazing and I love it! A girl can dream until she can afford these luxury items. Ahhhh............if only........

Day 16- Animals

This picture was just too cute to pass up. These cute little creatures, known to foes in the animal kingdom and yet, look at them cuddle. Who wouldn't like such a picture? 

It gives hope to the common man that despite our differences we can still live in harmony and peace.

The Jamaica Blog Awards

The blog awards have officially ended and unfortunately I did not win any of the categories that I was nominated for wa wa waaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! Though I'm a bit disappointed I do want to say CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS AND NOMINEES tonight. I know it's been a long time coming and a long journey is yet come. It's nice to know there is an organization who appreciates all out hard work and I look forward to meeting many of you in the future. My only regret of the night was not staying and meeting many of you. :( But hopefully next time. Possibly have a bloggers meet up!

Someone I know posted this little gem on facebook and I liked it so much I thought I would share it with you! 

A Paradox

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings, but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints; we spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy it less.

We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time; we have more degrees, but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, but more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often. We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life, not life to years.

We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbor. We've conquered outer space, but not inner space. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've split the atom, but not our prejudice. We have higher incomes, but lower morals. We've become long on quantity, but short on quality.

Photo Challenge Days 9, 10, 11 & 12

Hey everyone!!!! 

Today's Friday the 13th oooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Yes! Yes! As myth has it today is supposed to be a day of bad luck but as I've never found 13 to be an unlucky day or number I'm not much a believer in the unlucky #13! A black cat however (shudders) that's a different story! In any case, I've been so caught up in campaigning for my blog for the blog awards that I've yet to post on the photo challenge. It seems like I only remember to do these things every 4th day! Hmm.......go figure. Anyhoo!!! Let's get to it...........here's my photos for today!!!

Day 9- An Inspiring Person

I think this was the toughest of this lot because there are so many people in my life and people who I see who truly inspire me. So I decided to choose.........Sandra Bullock! I've loved her since foooooooorever!!!! Her movies are sooooooooooo amazing and she's such a fun, witty and wonderful person. I LOVE her! But besides my love for her, the reason she inspires me is because of her great character. Despite, all the drama, controversy and issues surrounding her divorce from famed bad boy Jesse James, she continued to beauty the classy and graceful beauty that we know and love. She didn't use this as a platform to seek sympathy but rather retained her composure (though I'm guessing she broke down in private), held her own and move on with her life. The result being her adoption of her beautiful child and still flourishing career.

Day 10- Nature

When people hear nature, minds tend to automatically moved towards a picture of the sky or beach or flowers maybe but I thought to change it up a bit and show a picture of nature that isn't normally viewed often and often viewed with such tragedy! I decided on some pictures of a hurricane experienced in Jamaica a couple years ago.  And I added a picture of a caterpillar just for a little bit of earthly fun.

Day 11- Something Old

This is my something old picture! This was taken Christmas of '07 I believe at my high school's annual Christmas concert. I love this picture!!!! It's so goofy and funny and brings back such great memories!!! :D That's me in the back with my friends Sharene on the left and Sheree on the right!!!

Day 12- Hands

Check out my tiny but still AWESOME hands wheee!!! That's all I have to say about this picture!!!

I hope you've enjoyed these pictures as much as I have. They've even inspired me to post some old photos on fb and take a wonderful trip down memory lane!

We complain but we never change

Sometimes I wonder if people truly look around and see that they are surrounded by good people. When they complain there's no good whatever left in the world, it's actually quite disappointing because often times they miss it right in front of them. Not to mention that people have an attraction to things that are bad for them. Everyone wants the sexy 'bad boy', 'star boy', 'football player', 'mr. player', 'miss sexy thing', 'the bitch' or 'the sketel girl in the skanky clothes leaving no room for the imagination' or whatever the case maybe because we find them interesting. Yet, no one finds the quite gentlemen or the sweet girl to be interesting. Oh no they are way too boring. The church girls and boys get persecuted for being too 'Jesus freak' or 'nerdy' but the girl in the batty rider (booty shorts) is one sexy piece a thing that everyone want and the douche bag is soooooo dreamy. As if! And then when you end up with them (against better judgement) and they treat you like CRAP you complain to that nice guy or girl you've long placed in the friend zone. Then you say 'All men are dogs and all girls are gold-digging bitches' 


Is it me or is there something wrong with the psyche there? We choose what's bad for us and then complain when the result is bad? :s Do we ever stop to think about the relationship cycle we've landed ourselves into. A series of bad choices and terrible decisions that lead us on the path of relationship rampages. We complain and exclaim but no one ever looks in themselves and try to change. If this sounds like you then maybe you should use this new year as an opportunity to do some serious reflection and see how you can make better relationship choices in the future. Because let's be honest if you don't change you'll just end up with the same guy or just with a different face each time. Take control of you relationships.
