It's that time of year again folks! Do you know what it is? It's time to..............(wait for it)...........(here it comes).........RELAY FOR LIFE. The Jamaica Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life is this Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 6pm at the Police Officer's Club. For those of you who do not know what relay for life is: It is a fundraising event (the main volunteer-driven cancer fundraising event of the JCS each year) where money is raised to support the JCS in their efforts of free cancer screenigs and medication to patients living with, suspected of living with or at high risk for cancers. It also holds as an event to celebrate and remember those who have fought the battle of cancer and have either lost or been survivors. So although the main objective of Relay is to raise money for cancer
research and cancer patients, the event is held to spread cancer
awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost
their lives to cancer, and unite a community in the fight against
cancer. Sounds great huh? WELL IT IS!!!! It's a VERY VERY VERY VERY VEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRYYYY fun night.
So what do you do? Well it you are just hearing about it and haven't already formed a team, no worries you can still come to the event, all you do is pay $1000 at the gate on the day. So come out and see old friends, make new friends and have a ball of a time while contributing to something great. For more information visit: Jamaica Cancer Society
Much Love,
Nella
